We could've done so much more. But Virid was like a cornered animal, and we were so occupied in building accusations against Pikachu instead. Either Virid would have hurt someone else, or Pikachu would have been the one to take the blame.
So even if we could've done something, it might have just ended up worse than before.
[ ... ] I really hope this doesn't happen again, but if it does we have got to be smarter about things. What if someone else lashes out like Virid did...?
Maybe. Maybe Pikachu would have still died. Maybe someone else would have. [ He looks up at the ceiling, leaning back in his seat, almost contemplative. ] We can't linger on it.
Because you're right - and I'm sure we'll see it again, or something like it. Better to prepare for what's to come, what could come, than to run through what if questions for what's happened as if we could change that outcome.

The dining hall has the tablecloths that are otherwise going unused, should we need a surplus of bandages, but the fact we have no means of acquiring proper medicine and supplies... [ at least they do later, it's fine ]
En. We're certain to see more trouble during curfews than just murder.
Oh yes, there's that. And there's t-shirts in the emporium, so.. as long as we're thorough with wound cleaning we might manage until we can figure out how to barter for first aid supplies, maybe.
I think they can at least provide us with something, but it's just a matter of pressing them into sharing. [ Politely, like with bartering, or shaking them into it?

I'm... not sure we really have much say in that. Especially if there's another one of those... weird visits that happened last week. Sora and I got injured even though we were very careful.
