I don’t think there’s anything wrong with talking about it.

It’s not like we have a measurement system... “you must be this upset to be allowed to complain about it today”, or anything.

This is all a lot, and we’re all equipped to deal with it differently.

That's true. [she'll concede that much—and then laughs, suddenly, wrly.]

I guess it just comes down to my people skills, then.

At least that's something you can kinda learn with time. I don't think I'm great at dealing with people a lot of the time myself, but... my job's public facing so that's one way to force me to learn.

My job used to be... public facing. But now it's more, um.

Do you prefer it this way?

[she nods.]

What I do now suits me more—a lot more, I think. I still have people I live among, but... it's a different kind of role.

This whole place has really thrown me for a loop.

It has done a great job of jarring us all out of whatever was happening beforehand, huh?

[ ... what was happening before she came here anyway? she'd been in the apartment and then...? ]

Yeah. One moment, I was riding the Nokk, and the next... [she shrugs, hunching her shoulders up. who! knows!!]

...The fact that we've all adapted so quickly is... well, I guess it's very human, wouldn't you say?

The what? [ Nokk? ]

... Well, we have to be good for something, right? We might not be the strongest or smartest, but we adapt well.

The Nokk. They're the physical embodiment of the elemental spirit of water. [pause;] In the shape of a horse.

...I guess if I can adapt to that, we can adapt to anything...

[ ... elsa that sure is a thing you just said. alex just sort of blinds. and nods.

[it's hard to miss alex's expression—and she laughs a little.]

I know, I know. It sounds a little... strange. But it's really nice. [beat;] Once he's calmed down. [and not trying to actively DROWN her]

And when he hasn't calmed down...?

That was just the once, and he had good reason to be upset.

[ELSA?]

[ ??? ]

Yes. Um. He did try to drown me, but I suppose I... helped him to see my point of view.

Can we go back to the bit where a water spirit tried to drown you because that's pretty concerning, Elsa.

Okay, I know how it sounds, but it's okay!

[she's laughing, half amused, half awkwardly]

It's all okay. Really. He saved my life not long after—and my Kingdom.

Does that make up for attempted drowning...?

[ elsa... ]

Still, I'm glad you were okay. And your Kingdom. [ ... huh. ] -- Kingdom?

He was just scared. I promise you, it's all fine.

[ah

oops.]

Um. Yes. I'm from the Kingdom of Arendelle.

[ she's never heard of it. obviously. ]

What's it like? [ tell her tell her ]

It's beautiful. It's one of the Northernmost kingdoms. We border on to the land of the Northuldra, the people of the sun, and we have four beautiful seasons.

Our castle is positioned on the Fjord, looking out to the sea. Most of it is coastal—and what isn't, is mountains, nearly scraping the sky.

I love it.

It sounds beautiful! You've got both the ocean views and mountain ones as well.

Exactly! It's not the biggest kingdom, but I'm so proud of it. Our flag has flown for hundreds of years, and my sister and I have always done our best to keep it there.

Good, then. I guess it's more rewarding to look after something when it's something that makes you proud, and you love and care about it.
