As is the wont of some wild beasts. I do know to ware my step, at the very least, though it seems to be clear around here for now.

That's good then. I don't want to be antagonising the local wildlife that much. [ especially after fighting a dinosaur and adjacently an elephant yesterday ]

Do you run into leopards often, then?

Not leopards, precisely, though I have come upon all manner of beasts in my travels.

What exactly do you do that means you keep running into "beasts"?

Hm? I am oft required to move from place to place, is all. 'Tis only natural to run into them here and there when you must make way on foot.

Natural, huh? They're just... something that exists where you're from? [ out there in the wild in front of everyone's salad? ]

As much as anything else, some more dangerous than others, of course. My comrades and I are all well practiced in defending ourselves, so there is usually little for us to worry of when out on the open road.

We don't have dangerous beasts where I'm from. Most of the time you just have to worry about other people.

Hah, that is all too true, as well. Bandits are ever on the loose, aye?

Mm... that's a word for them? Mafia henchmen, just... people who abuse their power over others. Those kinds of people.

Hm—yes, those sorts, as well.

[ He taps his pencil at his chin. ]

A shame it must happen. It is always a much bigger issue to tackle...

... It's kind of horrible that it happens everywhere, even across multiple worlds.

Where there are people, there will be those who seek power. Even in mine own world do I see it happen time and time again.

But I believe there is always far more good out there, as well.

Oh yes. There always is, it just... takes some time to find it, sometimes. The good parts.

That it does. I confess it took me quite some time ere I had learned such, myself, but 'tis not the easiest journey.

It's worth it once you find it though. Don't you think?

Oh, this? [ he nods ] I had been generously gifted this to draw with, so I've been putting it to some use. I am more practiced with portraits, but it had been suggested to me to try landscapes, as well.

[ Alphinaud isn't going out of his way to show off, but it isn't hard to catch what he's working on, either; he is... surprisingly good at what he does! ]

Goat was talking about that, wasn't he? Picking up hobbies to keep us busy. How are you finding it? Landscapes versus portraits, I mean.

Yes, I do recall. I thought it a bit amusing that we have been working on the same things.

And there are, of course, different rules one must use when approaching a different subject matter, but it is a nice challenge, if I say so myself. That, and I could not very well hold up everyone's busy days simply so that I can sketch their visage.

They’re not wrong though. Picking up hobbies and things to do for themselves wouldn’t be a bad thing for the leaders.

[ ... ] Oh I don’t know. A couple of people here would probably be flattered at a request to sketch them. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
