[ she leans slightly, like she's going to somehow be able to spy the hidden blades just by really looking at his arms. even through fabric. she's trying. ]
That sounds like it's on purpose. Is it the same for the chainsaw?
[ suggesting there's more weaponry hiding out somewhere in those 70% machinery. ]
... I would've thought they'd stop you from using all of them, honestly. [ let's be honest, the metal limbs are already a step up in terms of defending yourself compared to fleshy limbs. ]
Well, there are two sides of the Church. There is the nice side everyone knows of, with Sunday services, communion, and tossing kids in holy water for baptism. But there's a hidden side of it, and that side prides itself on eliminating heretical beings such as demons, evil spirits, and especially vampires.
[.....oh no, her doing that is REALLY CUTE. Ignore the spike of fondness, Alex.]
Well, yes and no. There are vampires like that. But the vampires I fight are more monstrous than that. They're corpses that look human, but aren't. Some can even turn into other creatures.
Hahaha, well, that's why we don't tell the general public these things. I mean, thank the Lord there isn't too many Dead Apostles out there, but they're a headache and a half to deal with. They're immune to all human weapons, you see. Like, you could shoot a missile at them, and they'd probably just roll your eyes at you.
[His smirk quirks up to the side.]
There's a few ways you can fight them, but what they aren't immune to, especially, are consecrated weapons. See where I come in?
So rather than having to cart a bunch of special weapons around in case you ran into one of these [ ... um? ] Dead Apostles, they just... put the weapons on a person?
[ it's more mobile, sure? ]
... That's a lot for something there apparently aren't many of, isn't it?
Yes. Because I was trained specially in how to destroy them.
[Again, the seriousness - this is his role, after all, his given path.]
They're not to be taken lightly. There may be a few, but their kind of destruction can topple entire cities if they want to. Some of them want to lead quiet lives and live among humans which is fine by me, but others...
[He pauses, suddenly, a peak of confusion - his eyebrows furrow. There was one that...no? Was he hunting one of them?]
[He can't remember.]
Anyways. The point is...what I am is an Executor, Alex. [His expression is stern. Maybe she would see him differently because of it...but who knows what he might forget, as the days go on? He trusts her.] That's the kind of role I have.

Its in my leg.

huh. ]
... Somehow I think I should feel more surprised by that.
[ there's a notable feeling like she just learned the inevitable. ]
no subject
[He just grins.]
I'm just full of surprises, some more surprising than others.
no subject
Some kind of blade? Other than a chainsaw.
[ is she just going to guess what's in his swiss-army-knife limbs? ]
no subject
Yes, I have blades in my arms. Sadly, they seem to be stuck...

Yes. The chainsaw works, though. That's the only thing that does.

[His smile goes down, a settling feeling of seriousness coming on.]
There is a very good reason. The Church has its fights to have, especially against those who stand as a threat against humanity.

I figured what I think of when I hear "church" and what you're talking about when you talk about the church are probably a little different.

... Wait, what-- vampires??

Well, yes and no. There are vampires like that. But the vampires I fight are more monstrous than that. They're corpses that look human, but aren't. Some can even turn into other creatures.

The fact you just admitted there are vampires like that, and then went on to talk about something even worse than that is ... a lot, actually.
[ corpses? that change form? fateverse explain. ]
