[ what a fun couple of days this has been. alex is just going to head as close to where dorothy is as this stupid realm with let her.]

Dorothy's just chilling, sitting quietly. ]

... Your team finished what they had to do then?

[ she'll just take a seat on the other side of the barrier. ]

Don't worry. I'm not going to ask details. Just that.

They did. [ She breathes this out. ]

I'm sorry to have to leave it to you.

[ She does at least seem apologetic. ]

Don't be. I think you guys have had the harder jobs so far.

[misstrust]

... I made sure he didn't suffer. That was the most I could do for him, and I'm sorry for that as well.

[ she shakes her head. ]

I... appreciate hearing that, but... none of this was really a complete surprise.

[ and chiron is chiron. ]

Well. Some parts, but not all of them.

... Yes, I suppose you would have known him best.

[ Sorry he's like this. ]

[ a slightly flat look, but it’s not really directed at her. ]

He could’ve tried being a bit selfish for once, but that was never going to happen.

... at this point we all know enough about what’s going on to know this isn’t easy for anyone.

[misstrust]

I can just hope that with this, we've fulfilled the most important part.

[ Please say they have. ]

[ she nods ]

I think so. [ she hopes so ] And then we just need to get everyone out safely, when the chance comes.

[ and the monster but y’know. baby steps. ]

[misstrust]

Yes, well. I and one fraction of your relationships will be waiting for that.

[ And hopefully they can all go home. ]

[chanteuser]

Make sure he doesn't do something stupid while he's over there, will you? And say hi to him from me.

[ going home sounds... good right about now. maybe. ]

Hopefully you both won't be gone too long. People will miss you, if you are.

[misstrust]

I don't think my popularity can hold a candle to his, but we'll certainly do our best to make it back as quickly as we can.

[ She doesn't want to think about leaving Ange alone for too long or Rufus falling back into lone wolf habits yet again-- ]

Come on, Dorothy. Lots of people are going to miss you -- I'm going to miss you too.

[ she looks thoughtful for a moment. it's actually only fair she says this, given she's asking favours of dorothy as it is: ]

I'm... not you, but I'll try and keep an eye on Rufus as well. And Ange, but I think she's very well covered at this point. [ they love ange ]

[misstrust]

It should be only briefly, but I too will miss our time together.

[ But the look she gives Alex is a grateful one. ]

... Thank you. Ange should be fine, but Rufus tends to just let people assume things about him, I think. And he's trying just as hard as the rest of us to get everyone back safely.

[chanteuser]

I had to make a contract with him to get him talking to me properly, when we first got here.

[ she laughs a little, but it's very small and soft. ]

He and Wolf remind me of each other. Not too talkative, not one for casual conversation, but looking out for people anyway. There are plenty of people out there in the world like that, if you know how to look past them shutting you down.

[misstrust]

[ Dorothy laughs, also softly. ]

I also had to enter an agreement with him! But it's true, they both do come across like that, once you persist a little more and you listen a lot more.

There's a lot he doesn't say, but that's really only one form of communication anyway.

[ Except when he then goes and says things like he did at the trial what the hell. ]

I guess agreements are just safe ground for him, huh?

[ ... ]

Yeah. Sometimes words don't do enough anyway. [ yeah, time to break you out to go kiss your demon boyfriend, dorothy. c'mon. ]

[ Absolutely not. ]

That's true. I think we all know times where actions have been better.

[ who here was aghast alex hadn't dropped her ship deets and then this?? shame. shame. shame. ]

It's just about figuring out what people put more weight on. Words, or actions.

[misstrust]

[ Listen, Dorothy was just as bewildered by Rufus saying all that as the rest of them??? ]

I think I may be a bit of both, personally. But actions do tend to go a long way.

Yeah. You can say you'll do something, and talk things over, but actually doing things ... that has a lot of weight to it.
