...it may not be anything organic at all. Do you recall that Alex said she was never able to fly before?

If someone received a poisoning ability, then-- there is truly nothing we can do to stop this from taking its course, whatever that may be.

At home or at all?

[That is, Alex didn't have powers, and she got a new one. Maybe the "normal" ones are the ones to keep an eye on.]

Something to think of,
Who else did not get sick.
Maybe they're immune.

...that may be so. If it was already used, however, I doubt they were immune to further exposure later. It would be too suspicious to simply avoid being afflicted as well.
