Because it was a welcome distraction from the rabid nest of snakes.

... A bolt of lightning would be a welcome distraction from the snakes, and the leeches. [ and the bird with the sword. ]

Haha, I can't help it. When you fight vampires and demons and stuff all the time, even a crocodile is a nice change of pace.

At least it took it out of commission pretty quickly. [ ... oh! right. ]

Haha, I was pretty silly asking for one then, huh? I just got caught up in the moment. [A little huff.] I'm glad we don't have any electric shocks, anymore.

I managed to get stabbed by a bird? I don't think I can judge anyone for "potentially silly things done on Wednesday". Besides, like you said, you were in the moment.

... Yeah. That was... [ she sighs ] rough. Especially over the weekend. And after two weeks of actively encouraging us to have close contact.

I like being the only person in my head too.

[All of this is rough, honestly.]

I don't even consider myself a touchy-feely person, and that week was terrible for me. Honestly, most of them have been weird.

[A beat.]

The ones with affection weren't too bad, though...

Those two weeks were fine. Taking them away after all that was... [ eh. ] Not my favourite thing that's happened here, no.

[ he is doing a terrible job at not being a touchy feely person. ]

It's pretty natural way to want to comfort people? [ like hugging a girl because a boy she was close with just got shot out of an airlock and she's sad. ] And sometimes just being there physically the most direct way to help. Moreso than just talking things out.

Not being able to do that was isolating.

[robopriest]

You're right. I mean, there were a lot of people that week that were so stressed...and sometimes a hand on the shoulder or a hug is what you need.

[There were definitely a lot of people he just. Felt like he couldn't do much with at all.]

I'm so glad that rule's gone.

And instead we all get to lose our senses this week.

[ said a little drily ]

I don’t know if these are technically escalating or not—- [ losing eyesight is one thing, but getting by without a sense of smell or taste is possibly more doable? she’s not sure. ] —- and if they are what that means. But I’ll take this over everyone knowing how I’m feeling at any given moment.

And then getting shocked.
